2 Question Thursday - Aloha Friday

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. Every Friday (well, ok, almost every Friday) I ask a simple question for you to answer--nothing that requires a lengthy response.  I'm combining this with Two Question Thursday (same idea...only TWO questions).

Here's my questions this week:
  1. What was the funniest gift you've ever gotten?
  2. What was the funniest gift you've ever given?
If you have a blog and would like to post your own questions you can leave your link on the appropriate day at the linkys at 2 Questions Thursday and An Island Life

  1. Sometimes the simpliest questions are the hardest to answer. Like yours, for instance. I don't remember ever receiving or giving a funny gift. Guess that says a lot about me. I usually try to give something that is practical and very special. Funny seems like such a waste of money. Okay, funny can be worth every penny. But it takes a lot of imagination to give a gift that is truly funny. Unlike the gifts people give at 50th birthday parties that are soooo cliche. Okay. Here's one. When my son was small, he gave me a necklace he'd purchased at a school fund raiser. It had been donated to the school by a retired Avon lady and was a huge square of faceted glass that looked like a diamond suspended from a gold rope chain. When he gave it to me for Christmas, his younger brother started to cry. "You gave Mommy a diamond and I just gave her an ornament (one he'd made at school and had been very proud of until then)." Ever so often, I wear this necklace as a reminder of that Christmas day.

  2. Wow, Donnie is a dull girl. I've never gotten or given a gag gift but I did get an obscene cake from the physician I worked for. His wife picked it out. It kinda confused me as to whether I had ever said anything that would've led them to think I would like it. I guess I am a dull girl....lol....

  7. I never received any funny gift, perhaps, I just didn't' find it funny? I can't remember what funny gift I gave either, because I guess I am too serious when it comes to gifting?
    Have a good weekend.

  10. Funniest? Wow...I think I would have to think back to my Youth Group days and our typical white elephant gifts...I didn't get this one I ended up passing it one, but one year I almost got "Chestnuts Roasting on an open fire..." which was in a box, it was a chestnut, unlit matches, and dark roasted coffee - that I found creative and funny!

Given - I gave my friend a Ken Doll once because she complained she didn't have a boyfriend....haha, I told her now she does...we still laugh about it to this day.
