Aloha Friday & Two Question Thursday - Birthday Ideas

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. Every Friday (well, ok, almost every Friday) I ask a simple question for you to answer--nothing that requires a lengthy response.  I'm combining this with Two Question Thursday (same idea...only TWO questions).

My little one is turning 6 at the end of the month.  I'm getting him Star Wars Legos cuase he loves that, but I'd like to also get him something fun that's not so "character" driven.  So, here's my question for my Aloha Friday and Two Question Friday:

  1. What is a really cool unique present for a 6 year old boy?
  2. When you were six, what was the best gift you got (if you remember?)

If you have a blog and would like to post your own questions you can leave your link at the linky at 2 Questions Thursday and An Island Life or Auntie E

And Thanks Kathryn for putting your 6 photo on creative commons on Flickr!

  2. 1. I think it would depend on what the six year old likes. I'd get him or her something she liked then an extra gift that would fuel his artistic imagination.

    2. Wow! I barely can remember what I did my last birthday let along when I was six. I do remember a Thumbelina doll that I loved but that's the extent of the memory :D

  3. 1) I got my son "everything Batman", including the cake and decoration since that was what he wanted.

    2) I can't go back that far, no active brain cells left :-)

  4. Thank you for joining us this week!

Answering your question 1, I agree with Poetic comment above. It depends on the child.

Number 2, we don't celebrate big birthday in our family..Just a little gathering, that's it!

  5. I think a bike is perfect for a 6yr old. When I was a child I didn't get presents.

  6. I can't think of anything cool and unique. The six year old boys I know like themed birthday parties.

  7. For six, he would probably enjoy baseball, soccer games? Enroll him in these leagues, or perhaps martial arts class?

We didn't celebrate birthdays where I was from, so I didn't get anything.
