Items Being Collected for Mercy House Auction

The Mercy House Kenya is collecting items to sell in their upcoming Mercy Day Silent Benifit Auction. Items must be valued at over $75. All proceeds from the auction will go to fund The Mercy House Kenya, a Christian maternity home in Kenya. They provide a safe place for at risk women to have their children, and with after-care including job training and counseling. This auction will help them provide therapy by a qualified counselor for each of the girls in their maternity home. You can also support them by visiting their shop, which has items made my by the women in their maternity home.

Fair Trade Month

October is Fair Trade Month! I love Fair Trade--not only do people who make these products get a living wage, but because the their care about the wages of their supply chain, these companies monitor it more closely than most companies, leading to less cases of slavery and other abuses!

I'm going to be ferreting out some great Fair Trade giveaways to showcase here, so you'll want to come back and check them out.
